Village Animal Clinic provides high quality veterinary service while focusing on the compassionate treatment of animals. We will work with you to provide proper education to ensure the your pet receives the highest quality of care available. Since 1979, we have provided outstanding medical and surgical care to Wheaton-area dogs and cats. We know that our pets are an important part of the family. We provide high-quality, compassionate care to your pet and excellent, personable service to you. In 2009, Village Animal Clinic was listed among the Best 23 Veterinary Clinics in the Chicago Magazine! and in 2014 we were listed as one of the Top Veterinary Clinics in Dupage County in Checkbook Magazine! Meet Our Doctors

  • Dr.
    Amanda L. Healey

    After growing up watching her father, Dr. Douglas Carlson, help so many animals, she wanted to follow in his footsteps. She started out as a kennel girl and eventually became a veterinary assistant. After receiving her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois in 2005, she joined the Village Animal Clinic. She has owned the practice since July 2012. She is married to Kevin and has three boys, twins Liam and Dylan (13), and Grayson (9). She enjoys spending time with their Labrador Retriever, Magoo and kitties, Lego, and Lionel and their newest addition Zola, a Golden Retriever.

  • Dr.
    Bridget Peck

    Dr. Peck grew up in Mundelein, Illinois.  She graduated with honors from the University of Illinois as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.  She completed a year long  internship at VCA Aurora specialty center prior to joining Village Animal Clinic.  When not busy at work, Dr. Peck and her husband, Brenton, enjoy spending time with their Golden Retriever Briggs,  traveling, spending time with family, and watching movies.

    Alyssa Mohus

    Dr. Alyssa Mohus is a 2016 graduate from the University of Illinois.  She is a long-time member of the Village Animal Clinic team and has been working with us during school breaks since high school.  During veterinary school she completed rotations at the Anti-Cruelty Society, VCA Arboretum View's Neurology department, and previously volunteered at DCACC.  Dr. Mohus has a special interest in brachycephalic breed medicine and enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs.  Dr. Mohus is also Fear Free Certified.

Meet Our Staff

Our Animal Lovers

TODD - serves as our practice manager and has been with the clinic since January 2002 . Todd grew up on a farm in South Dakota and previously was a supervisor for flight attendants for United Airlines. When Todd is not working he enjoys traveling(especially cruises) and spending time with friends and family.

CHRISTY - has been with the Village Animal Clinic since 1999. When she is not enjoying her job at the clinic with the cats and dogs, she can be found at home with her own shelter rescue kitties Javi and Gabriel and husband Mike. She also likes gardening, hiking, traveling, interior decorating and spending time with family and friends.

KELLY - has been working with animals for the past 18 years. She has been a dedicated employee with Village Animal Clinic since 2011. Kelly previously worked as a hairstylist and as an assistant pet groomer. She has a box turtle name Junior, who is over 20 years old! When not busy working and pet sitting Kelly enjoys watching the Cubbies, wood burning/ crafting and spending time with family and friends.

GINA - Is a long time animal lover. Gina has been at Village Animal Clinic for 8 years. She has 7 dogs, Bella, Maya, Tasha and Gunnar, Lola, Hazel, and Mabel. When not busy at work Gina enjoys spending time with her family and husband Mike. .

SUE - has a background in administrative assistant work. She no longer has pets, but enjoys taking care of her friend's multiple animals when they go on vacation. Sue says she needs a huge farm (and win big in the lottery!) to be able to have all the animals she'd love to include in her family. Until then she treats all our client's pets as her own.

NOELLE - joined us in October 2019. She has worked in the veterinary field for the last 10 years. When not working she enjoys spending time with friends, family, boyfriend Eric and 4 dogs, Yoshi, Copper, Daisy, Ash and 2 kitties, Jinkies and Kat. Her hobbies include making homemade soaps and candles.

JAIME -joined us July 2020, and has spent the past 13 years in the animal field. She volunteered with DCAS for 9 years and has since been in the veterinary field. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her five cats and four reptiles. She also enjoys a good nap!

JAMIE -started at Village Animal Clinic in September 2020 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from Northern Michigan University and earned her Certified Veterinary Technician degree from VTI in 2019. When not busy at work she enjoys spending time with her daughter Sophia and doing anything outdoors.

MARISA - joined Village Animal Clinic in May 2020 as a veterinary technician.  When not working Marisa enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
