Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Amanda L. Healey

After growing up watching her father, Dr. Douglas Carlson, help so many animals, she wanted to follow in his footsteps. She started out as a kennel girl and eventually became a veterinary assistant. After receiving her veterinary degree from University of Illinois in 2005, she joined the Village Animal Clinic.  She has owned the practice since July 2012. She is married to Kevin and has three boys, twins Liam and Dylan (8), and Grayson (4). She enjoys spending time with their labrador retriever, Magoo and kitty, Cameron.

Dr. Bridget Peck

Dr. Peck grew up in Mundelein, Illinois.  She graduated with honors from the University of Illinois as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.  She completed a year long  internship at VCA Aurora specialty center prior to joining Village Animal Clinic.  Dr. Peck and her husband, Brenton, enjoy traveling, spending time with family, watching movies, and spoiling their dog, Maddux. Maddux is a golden retriever mix and a huge Cubs fan.

Dr. Alyssa Mohus

Dr. Alyssa Mohus is a 2016 graduate from University of Illinois and a long-time member of the Village Animal Clinic team, working with us during the summer and spring breaks for over 10 years. She recently completed internships at the anti-cruelty society, VCA Arboretum View Neurology department, and previously volunteered at DCACC. Dr. Mohus Enjoys spending time with her family and their dogs, Macie, Pip, Emrie, Annabelle, Skeeter and their most recent rescue, Frog, a 15 year old pug.

Meet Our Staff

Our Animal Lovers

TODD WIESELER  serves as our practice manager and has been with the clinic for  over 17 years. Todd grew up on a farm in South Dakota and previously was a supervisor for flight attendants for United Airlines.  When Todd is not working he enjoys traveling(especially cruises) and spending time with friends and family.  

CHRISTY REDMER  has been with the Village Animal Clinic since 1999.  When she is not enjoying her job at the clinic with the cats and dogs, she can be found at home with her own shelter rescue cat Tyler and husband Mike.  She also likes gardening, hiking, traveling, interior decorating and spending time with family and friends. 

KELLY PAPAK has been working with animals for the past 18 years. She has been a dedicated employee with Village Animal Clinic since 2011. Kelly previously worked as a hairstylist and as an assistant pet groomer. She has a box turtle name Junior, who is over 20 years old! When not busy working and pet sitting Kelly enjoys watching the Cubbies, wood burning/ crafting and spending time with family and friends.

GINA ALLETTO Is a long time animal lover. Gina has been at Village Animal Clinic for 7 years.  She has 7 dogs, Bella, Maya, Tasha and Gunnar, Lola, Hazel, and Mabel.  When not busy at work Gina enjoys spending time with her family and fiance Mike. 

SUE FUNK's  background is in administrative assistant work. She no longer has pets, but enjoys taking care of her friend's multiple animals when they go on vacation. Sue says she needs a huge farm (and win big in the lottery!) to be able to have all the animals she'd love to include in her family. Until then she treats all our client's pets as her own.

Tadjanae Shaffer joined Village Animal Clinic in August 2019.  She has previously worked at another animal clinic and we are excited to have her.  You will see her up front at reception or helping the other techs in the back. 

CHERYL SWIFT and her family have helped keep our clinic sparkling clean for over 10 years.
